Marcus Wilkins is an award-winning writer of nearly every type of communication over his 20-year professional career. Specialties include long- and short-form journalism; marketing copy; web content; slogans and taglines; video scripts; film and literary criticism; speeches and more.

With roots in sports journalism and newspapers, Marcus prides himself as a gifted teller of “people stories” — striving always to connect the reader to the subject’s heart. As a longtime contributor to the University of Missouri’s stellar alumni magazine, MIZZOU, Marcus was the team’s resident headline specialist and master of quippy, tightly written copy. He wore a second hat as the student-recruitment editor for the MU Office of Admissions, helping his alma mater break enrollment records and change the lives of undergraduates. Marcus also spent 15 years in the food-service industry as a chef and restaurant manager, so food and culinary writing also come naturally.

A graduate of the University of Missouri, he lives in Columbia with his wife Katie Burnham Wilkins and their four-year-old daughter, Harper.
